Team USA Wins Baseball World Cup

A couple of weeks ago we reported that the Baseball World Cup was taking place over in Europe despite the lack of fanfare. It is right in the middle of the MLB season, as you know. At any rate, the Americans just won the whole thing! Congratulations are in order for the US National team, which beat Cuba in the final game to take home the title for the second straight year. The American team consisted mostly of US minor league players.

In other news, MLB news, the Atlanta Braves are now right in the thick of the National League playoff race. The Braves have been on a hot streak lately and have officially passed up the San Francisco Giants in the NL Wild Card standings. They’re just two and a half games back. If you’re an Atlanta area baseball fan, you have to like the rally. But is it too late to really overcome the odds? Check out a game down the stretch to find out!
