Justin Morneau was playing with a nagging injury for quite some time, but now it appears as though he’s going to miss the rest of the season. On September 11th the 2006 MVP injured his back sliding into third. Although he was trying to play with it still hurting, he’s now going to have to call it quits until the end of the year. His Twins are still battling to get into the playoffs, so he’s going to be missed greatly in Minnesota.
Tim Lincecum had a huge day today. He struck out 11 batters in the seven innings he pitched as the Giants defeated the Colorado Rockies. The Giants and the Rockies appear to be battleing for the NL Wild Card slot down the stretch. Every game counts from here on out for these two teams.
