Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports is going out on a limb. Well, it might be a short limb, but at least he’s making some bold, specific predictions about who will win the awards this year and what will happen with some of the best players in the game- in trades, in drama, in the postseason, what have you.
A few of Ken Rosenthal’s general predictions are pretty obvious. For instance, he thinks that Jake Peavy will be traded (a no brainier considering the Padres were openly looking for an offer earlier in the offseason), and that the mutual love between Manny Ramirez and the baseball fans in LA will eventually cool and freeze over.
Some of his award winner predictions are a little more out of the ordinary. We’re not talking completely out-of-the-blue picks, but they’re not the most obvious ones you’d say right off the top of your head. He thinks Hanley Ramirez will win the NL MVP, and he’s giving Grady Sizemore, who hasn’t done well in the voting at all in the past, the AL MVP. Rookies are always hard to predict before the season even begins, but you can see what Ken’s thinking anyways if you read the article. Overall, we like the boldness, Ken.
