The nation (and most especially a particular Los Angeles team) anxiously awaits to see who Manny Rodriquez will chose to perform his next season in Major League Baseball. The negotiating window for clubs and free agent players closes this evening, and general manager Ned Colletti for the Dodgers has yet to hear back, he told MLB.com. “I need to hear their reaction to the offer,” he said. According to published reports the offer is a two year contract and $45 million with an option to stay on for a third year pushing the total to $60 million. Ramirez, however, was seeking a six year contract and he and his agent Scott Boras have both been quoted as saying that even with the window closing on deals, they were still not ready to make any serious commitments just yet. While Dodgers manager noted that as of yet the proposal has no definitive end date, there is only so long the blue team can wait. He mentioned that if the initial proposal is withdrawn “it doesn’t mean we’re closing the door on it. We’ll see where things go. There’s no way to get Scott to move prematurely; it’s not his style. It usually takes a while to sort it out.” Keep yourself in the game with next season’s Los Angeles Dodgers tickets and find out first hand whether Manny made the team.
